The EU-compliant vaccination certificate, the yellow vaccination card, a vaccination card and a printout or a PDF (e.g. on a mobile phone) of the data from the e-vaccination card are considered as proof of vaccination.

Immunisation by two partial vaccinations:
After receiving the second vaccination, the validity of the vaccination certificate is 270 days and at least 14 days must have elapsed between the two vaccinations.

Immunisation by vaccination of convalescents:
Provided that a positive molecular biology test for SARS-CoV-2 was available at least 21 days prior to vaccination or evidence of neutralising antibodies is available prior to vaccination, proof of vaccination is valid for 270 days from the date of first vaccination with an EMA-approved SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

Further vaccinations ("3rd dose"):
After receiving another vaccination, the validity period of the vaccination certificate is again 270 days. At least 14 days must elapse between this vaccination and an immunisation in which only one vaccination is scheduled. For all other vaccination schedules, at least 120 days must have elapsed.

OR

RECOVERED:

A convalescent certificate is valid for 180 days.
A medical certificate is valid for 180 days after an expired infection with SARS-CoV-2. This must be
have been proven by molecular biology (e.g. PCR test).
An official segregation order is also valid for 180 days.

STAY FOR CHILDREN:
The obligation to present a valid 2-G certificate does not apply to children up to the age of 12. Children therefore do not need their own G certificate to be allowed to go to the restaurant with their parents. Children and young people of compulsory school age have access to restaurants and cinemas, for example, with their Ninja Pass. After the end of the ninth school year, young people, like adults, require a 2-G certificate.

ENTRY RULES as of December 20, 2021

In order to curb the global spread of the Omikron variant, the entry rules to Austria will be tightened. A valid 2-G proof and the additional PCR testing for entries from all states will allow travel to continue

2G+ (Vaccinated or recovered and PCR-tested) for entry from all states
- Booster vaccination exempts from PCR testing
- 3G for commuters remains
