The Tree Frog

I am one of Europe's most colorful birds – a true spectacle of vibrant colors that is hard to forget. After my long journey from the warm wintering grounds south of the Sahara in Africa, I return late, usually at the end of April or the beginning of May. Here on the grounds of ST. MARTINS Therme & Lodge, I have found my home. We nest directly on site in our breeding colony – a place full of life, movement, and elegance. If you look closely, you can easily spot me: about the size of a blackbird, but with plumage that couldn't be more distinctive. Often, however, I give myself away before you even see me – through my characteristic flight calls that echo through the air. Listen closely... perhaps I am already very close.
