With the groundbreaking ceremony on 02.09.2007, construction officially began for the Seewinkel thermal baths resort. In the following years, a leading project for quality and year-round tourism that meets international standards and is second to none was created here. Accordingly, the groundbreaking ceremony was attended by prominent figures. Alongside Governor Hans Niessl, Deputy Governor Mag. Franz Steindl, Frauenkirchen's Mayor Josef Ziniel and the mayors of the 12 other Seewinkel municipalities (Andau, Apetlon, Gols, Halbturn, Illmitz, Mönchhof, Neusiedl am See, Pamhagen, Podersdorf am See, St. Andrä am Zicksee, Tadten, Wallern), WiBAG Board Directors Peter Schmitl and Franz Kast, and VAMED Managing Director Ing. Walter Troger, numerous guests were also welcomed at the ceremony at Pimezlacke in the municipality of Frauenkirchen.

Directly bordering the Natura 2000 nature reserve is the area of the former Pimetzlacken, which were used as gravel ponds. During the conceptual phase, it was decided to merge the gravel ponds into two large lakes and place an organic building in the shape of a spiral centrally within the lake landscape. The center of the spiral is formed by the thermal baths with the main sunbathing areas, pools, sauna landscape, etc. Thermal baths and lodge merge into one another within the spiral shape. The 4-star superior lodge includes 150 room units with restaurants, bars, seminar areas, etc. The water of the lake was drawn into the building in an abstracted form matching the outdoor pool landscape of the lodge spa and sauna area. The peninsula in front of the thermal baths with small gravel coves, as well as the terrace landscape built in front of the lodge lobby and restaurants, invite you to linger by the water. The atmosphere of the area thrives above all on the direct connection to the water and the expanse of the landscape.
