Member of the White Baroque Donkey Association!
The association, which has been in existence since 2011, takes care of all concerns relating to the white Baroque donkeys, the only officially recognised donkey breed in Austria. As a member of the board represented by Mag. Elke Schmelzer, St. Martins supports the association and keeps 3 animals on our farm.
Why are Baroque donkeys white? What do donkeys eat and how do you keep them? And what is the difference between a donkey and a horse? You can learn this and more at the St. Martins Estate. A small herd lives in the eco-pedagogical stable at St. Martins Therme & Lodge. The donkeys are part of animal-assisted interventions (AAI) with our guests and also help maintain the pasture-like steppe landscape on the St. Martins grounds.
